EVV is a technology solution which electronically verifies the provision of PCS by providers of home and community-based services using multiple technologies such as telephonic, mobile application and web portal verification inputs to help lectronically validate PCS services and prevent fraudulent PCS claims.
Nova Home Health Care Policy stipulates that all caregiver as of January 1, 2021 must have a mobile phone with smart phone technology to complete the tasks of clocking in and out of every assignment, every day. It is also important that the caregiver understand and know how to correctly and timely utilize the EVV system and complete the tasks list at the end of each shift.
Caregiver will not be compensated for visits or hours worked if they do not properly clock in and out. Caregivers must clock in and out at the clients home daily. In the event the caregiver is with the client or running errands for the client, this needs to be communicated to the office immediately. If the caregiver is running late the office needs to be notified including the client
immediately. Caregivers will not be compensated if they clock in or out from their personal homes unless they have authorized living arrangements with the participant they are caring for.
Effective with dates of service on or after January 1, 2021, Nova Home Health Care must meet the federal requirements of EVV to capture and submit the EVV data to the PA Department’s EVV Aggregator for visit verification of PCS.
As of January 1, 2021, the Insurance companies will deny all PCS visit claims and CHC- MCO PCS encounters that do not have corresponding visit verifications recorded in the Department’s EVV Aggregator. For this reason, it is imperative that all caregivers clock in and out daily and also complete the task list for the day utilizing the EVV App. This is an essential part of being a caregiver.
